October 2000
~ Limited Printed Issue ~

The October 2000 issue was printed in celebration of the 2nd Dawn Convention that was held in Buffalo, NY. Only subscribers to DDM received a copy of this limited printed issue.

I asked Jodi B. to work on a cover for the magazine. I never discussed a layout for it. I told her to use her best judgement.

For the Buffalo Convention, my pal Angie had come up with a cape pattern. So we worked together to create fake beauty pageant capes. We didn't tell Jodi what we were making. She in the meantime had won an original Topper cape on Ebay.

I was blown away when she showed me the cover of my magazine. It tied in with the capes Angie and I were handing out at the convention.

It wasn't until I was home, and reading my own bio in the printed issue that I realized something else.

The One Dawn thing I remember getting as a kid was the Beauty Pageant playset when I had my tonsils removed. :) I thought that was so wild... I had come full circle in my own Dawn World. Interesting how life works sometimes.
