Party at Triki Miki's Place!

A gathering of Triki Miki and Little Miss Dollikin dolls.

Little Miss Dollikin and her Woolworth/Woolco exclusive version called Triki Miki were apparently Uneeda's attempt to get some of the lucrative Dawn maprice range, and long ago I had a blonde TM and four of her outfits (Poncho Set, Opera Date, Fashion Coat, and Dreamy Hours). I thought they were frumpy compared to Dawn's huge, glamorous wardrobe (just compare TM's flannel nightie to Dawn's half-dozen or so provocative lingerie sets), but now I find the comparatively crude and ill-fitting outfits rather charming, and the dolls with their luminous eyes may share the same face, but they do take on different looks depending on the shape and color of their faces and hair.

Blonde LMD in On the Town.
A blonde Little Miss Dollikin in "On the Town," missing a necklace and possibly purse and shoes or boots. The red shoes go nicely, though. Her hair was rooted long on the left so she wears it pulled around into a ponytail behind her right ear. The fragile silky shirt has some fray holes artfully hidden by her pose. :)
Redheaded LMD in Cocktail Hour. Red-haired LMD in "Cocktail Hour," missing the purse. (She does have an appropriate gold knock-off purse somewhere, but I think she's left it in the bedroom. :) Her face is very pale in person, but it seems to go with her hair. Blonde LMD in Elegant Evening. Blonde LMD in "Elegant Evening," Triki Miki's knock-off of Dawn's "Tangerama Tunic."
Brunette LMD in Frilly Formal.
Brunette LMD in "Frilly Formal" with white shoes instead of blue. I think she makes a good Mary Richards action figure, and it's about time! :)
Brunette TM in Fasion Coat. Brunette TM in "Fashion Coat," missing hat and purse. Brunette LMD in orange jumpsuit. Brunette LMD in an original polka-dotted orange jump suit and shoes. She looks a bit demure compared to the others, in spite of her bright-colored outfit.
Blonde TM in Poncho Set. A blonde Triki Miki in "Poncho Set," missing the sunglasses. TMs tend to buy their shoes too small, and here she is kicking them off at the first opportunity. :) Brunette TM in Play Jeans. Brunette TM in "Play Jeans," missing the shoes, sunglasses, and guitar (!), though her red boots seem more appropriate with those open-sided bell bottoms! Redheaded TM in original jumpsuit. This red-haired TM wears the original orange, flowered jumpsuit with green sash and shoes. Her face is much shinier and pinker than the others; I guess she's that type of redhead. :)
Redhead TM in Holiday Cruise.
A red-headed TM in a miraculously complete "Holiday Cruise"!
Redhaired TM in Nifty Pants Set.
The red-headed TM in a minty "Nifty Pants Set" against an orange Triki Miki wardrobe case.
Blonde TM in Party Time top.
A blonde TM with a very careful haircut in the top from "Party Time," knockoff black pants and pink Rock Flower shoes*.

My custom-dyed head on an authentic body.
My "custom" black Triki Miki: with the African-American versions so difficult to find (and afford!), when I snagged a headless body I dyed an extra brunette Caucasian Triki Miki head to match. I left her eyes blue so she's clearly a fake, but I had to repaint her lips - the blue eyes with pale pink lips looked too freaky!
A genuine black Triki Miki, boxed. Not much later, to my surprise and delight, I managed to get a beautiful black Triki Miki still attached to her backing!

Much prettier than my custom, I'll tell you that much! Of course, while I was on vacation for a week and unable to bid, another African-American T.M. sold for little over $20 on eBay, which is the lowest I've seen for one with her head still attached!

Bendable Babs, the U.K. version An apparent rarity (not in my collection yet, anyway!) from eBay U.K.: "Bendable Babs," Triki Miki's British cousin! (Does Babs adore a minuet, the Ballet Russe, and Crêpes Suzette? :)

(I've lost track of the doll's winner, so if I've got your doll's picture here against your will, please let me know and I'll take it down.)

Triki Miki accessories, Style 708 - Jewelry Set.
A Triki Miki accessory pack... "Style 708 - Jewelry Set," which sold for 39 cents when we were both young. (I had completely forgotten this existed until I found a single earring in an auction lot; then I couldn't wait until I found the set.) A bit battered by the passing years, but who am I to throw stones?

*Rock Flower pumps are almost identical in style to TM/LMD's, but the Rock Flower shoes are slightly longer and have "HONK KONG" written inside on the sole, while TM/LMD's have the initials "HK" on the underside. Original TM/LMD shoes are often too small to fit on and stay, so the Rock Flower shoes make good substitutes, especially since they come in similar colors. Rock Flower pumps vs. TM/LMD pumps.
The plentiful hot pink Rock Flower pumps compared to Triki Miki's avocado heels.

Blatant Pleading - My "wish list" of Triki Miki items: If you have Dreamy Hours (pink dotted nightgown set), Theater Date (silver maxi with lace sleeves), or County Fair (multicolor/dotted midi) for sale or trade, please e-mail me! (See my Dawn wish list for other items!)
