February Vacation Stories!

Hi! I'm Ponytail Glori! The girls and I were SO excited when our beautiful special guest Dawn arrived! Di gave me the honor of being Dawn's guide and companion during her stay here in Salt Lake City, Utah. We had a great time trying on clothes and shoes, deciding what to wear for our photo shoots. Dawn borrowed Silverbelle and I wore my favorite Snowqueen, both coats and gowns made by Louise, and here we are hanging out in the snow in my big backyard.

Skiing would have been fun, but Di hasn't done that in many years, and as it was getting dark and starting to snow, going out to the Salt Flats was not a good idea. We decided to stay a little closer to home. We drove to downtown Salt Lake to go see the Temple of the Church of Later-Day-Saints (Mormon) were Di was married. It was very beautiful with the fountains and pools around it in the snow, although very beautiful as well in the springtime when it is filled with flowers.
Dawn dressed in Wedding Bell dream to take pictures in the gardens and on the steps on the Temple.

We drove up to the State Capital. The fog was SO thick you almost couldn't see the top of the building, it looked so cool! Dawn changed back into her blue and white mini for this photo. She liked the giant stone beehives on the steps. Utah used to be called the State of Deseret (honeybee). It was chosen because of the industry and hard work of the honeybees. We headed off to a museum, did take some other cool photos, but the weather was getting pretty yucky so we headed home.
It was time to say our goodbyes! we all wished we could hop in that box and go around the world with Dawn! We had a lot of fun and look forward to seeing more pictures and stories of Dawn's Vacation as she visits our Dawn friends around the globe!

It was beautiful weather when I arrived here in Princewick, West Virginia. Teresa (my tour guide) was waiting for me with some of my friends, Glori, Longlocks and Head-to-Toe Angie.
What a nice place they have!
We talked and had some milk and Oreo cookies, Yum!

HTT Angie helped me unpack, as she wanted to wear my new pajamas, and we have a grand ole time at our pajama party! We brushed each other's hair and talked about "the guys" and had some popcorn while listening to the radio.
Teresa had a big day planned for us the next day.
I was so excited, I could hardly sleep!

The next day we got up bright and early. Teresa and her sister, Linda, took me to the New River Gorge Bridge. It is the longest single span steel arch bridge in the world and the 2nd highest! It spans from mountain top to mountain top. Oct. 3rd is Bridge Day every year. They have parachuting and bungee jumping! I really wanted to Bungee jump, but Teresa was having like a heart attack driving over the bridge and didn't want to stop LOL. We had our picture taken by the overlook. All Teresa was worried about were my shoes going over the cliff! We went to lunch at Cracker Barrel and then hit the antique shops. It was an all day event and we all had a really nice time.
On Tues the 20th, I was taken with some of my friends to meet the friendly newspaper folks at The Register-Herald in Beckley, West Virginia. I was nervous, being it was my first newspaper interview in thirty years! Several people recognized me right away.
I thought, "Even after all these years, they still remember me!" They asked me all kinds of questions and I had my picture taken. They wanted to know where I had been all these years. I told them, "Being loved by all my Dawnette friends at Topper Towers, where else?" Everyone was so glad to see me back in the spotlight, and they all said I hadn't aged a day!
Well, I'm off to the The Sunshine State!
Love, Dawn
Here's my newspaper interview!

Hi everybody!
I'm here hanging with my bud DeAnn in Zephyr Hills, Florida!
Boy, a little R & R is doing me a world of good after mucho jet-lag! After a bit of clothes sharing, Dale let me borrow her Bikini Beach Bunny and we spent all day sunday (Feb. 25) lounging around the pool sipping on ice cold soda pop. Dale, Kip and I laughed and cried reminicing about the good ole days at the Topper Factory 30 years ago. The girls here have it made! They spend all their days at the pool. What a life!

Dawn at Disney World!

On Monday, they took me to see the alligators. That's me on the No Swimming sign (no kidding!) We saw big ones and some babies. They all looked mean to me though. Oh gosh, it's so close to De's house it's almost in her backyard! I was such a klutz, I lost Dale's sunglasses in the grass below the sign. Some nice boys were eager to help in the recovery effort. We finally found them and Dale and De were so happy!

This was the most fun and relaxing day ever! You just can't beat a day at the ocean! They took me to the Bruce Davies beach on the Courtney Campbell causeway. (isn't that a mouthful!)
What a beautiful day we had! The ocean here is lovely and quiet, not like the rumbling big waves we get in New Jersey. No boogie boarding here though! De and Andy took me and the rest of the girls out to lunch afterwards.
Wow, what a week of relaxation I've had here! Hanging out by the water all day and then dancing the nights away in the clubs. These girls really know how to party! Well, as much as I hate to leave paradise, I have many more stops to make on my journey. Next stop; Babs Bungalow By the Beach.
Hugs, Dawn
