In the spring of 2006, several strangely packaged dolls appeared on the shelves of KB Toys
-- dolls in the wrong boxes, new mismatched clothing, missing pieces --
all pointing to signs that Dawn was nearing the end of her production run.
End of the story? Almost ... just one more small chapter.

even though they clearly say "Best Friends Rings to Share."
It also says "Mix and Match Fashions Create 8 Groovy Looks"
(which was possible with the original clothing, because it was color coordinated to go together),
but judging from the patterns and colors in the new clothing, that might be easier said than done.
These little Paula dolls (Kelly knock-offs) were sold at KB
at the same time Dawn was being found in her new random fashions.
The fashions appear to be interchangeable with Dawn and Paula.
