DawnŽ and her World
The Play Line!

Pamphlet #2 of the New Checkerboard Dawn Features the New Play line.
The cover shows the Same Drawing (originally from the pink 3 doll Topper case) as found on Pamphlet #1.
The Pamphlet now has a blue background.
The Title is Dawn and Her World, and on the bottom reads "It's Groovy to be a Girl".
The pamphlet has 8 pages, and folds out much like the original Topper pamphlets did.
Though it is about 2/3 the length, and a tiny bit taller. See Picture Below for a side by side comparison

What is inside:

There are two sides to this pamphlet, and it folds out accordion style, unlike the first pamphlet Checkerboard has, this one is much like the original Dawn Pamphlets.

The top photo shows the back side:
From left to right
*Page 5 - has the website listed so you can check out what is new in Dawn's world.
*Page 6 - shows a photo of the new Dawn Dream Diary, and the top reads Make your dreams come true.
*Page 7 - shows the New Play line of dolls, featuring Dawn (who has a new and differnt look than the 30th anniversary Dawn). It also shows pictures of her new friends, Denise, Macy and Shannon. I do like the looks of these dolls, I think the kids will love them, they remind me of a cross between Dawn and Pippa.
*Page 8 - shows the cover.

The bottom Photo, Pages 1-4, show the 3 new "fashion lines" that will be out.
Which include: "High School Cool","Groovy Glam", and "Fun Formals".
This side also features little circles so little girls can "check them as they collect them".

The new line of dolls!
Each one of the dolls has a symbol before their names. Here they are from L-R:
*****
Denise (not a remake of the Original Topper Model Agency Denise) this doll is African American with long straight black hair, in the pamphlet she has almost an Asian look to her.
She is Wearing what appears to be a gold brocade Eisenhower Jacket (I know I am showing my age but that is what they were originally called) It is a short jacket that is tighter around the waist. And has a collar. It appears as though she has a gold lame shirt and she has a yellowish satin pair of pants, no shoes seen in photo.
Next to her name is a Ying Yang.
*****
Dawn is in an ice blue lame skirt with light blue boots, and a tie-dyed top that looks like it ties around the waist, and has flared sleeves.
Dawn has a Rising Sun before her name.
*****
Macy is wearing a fuchsia colored Jacket (Eisenhower/Bomber type)WIth a black collar. She has matching pants with a black stripe down the sides. No shoes are seen in photo.
Macy has a heart before her name.
******
Shannon is in a light lavender turtle neck, with an opening in the front, she has a shiny multicolored skirt on and lavender boots.
Shannon has a flower in front of her name.
*****
Now that I see a better view of the dolls, the names do kind of suit them, (except I would rather something other than Denise, since that was already used on the Original Line.)

The "High School Cool" collection.
*****
Featuring Dawn in "Fringe Benefits" a very retro looking outfit. Dawn has on denim pants and purse with purple fringe, she is also wearing a white Turtle neck with purple flowers on it. It appears as though she is wearing Lavender boots but I cannot be sure.
*****
Macy in "Mad Plaid" A modern version of "Mad about Plaid"
This outfit is a different plaid than the Topper Toys "Mad about Plaid" and there is no scarf.
Though the new version has a big plaid purse, instead of a red plastic one, and there is an opening in the front of the turtle neck.
*****
Denise in "In Skin" A light blue pants outfit
Shiny looking ice blue snake skin type pants with a waist length light blue jacket, no collar (so no Eisenhower type here) short white top, and light blue boots.
*****
and Shannon in "Animal Magnetism" Similar to the knock off leopard outfits.
Either a black V neck sweater, or a V neck top dress, I am not quite sure. Comes with a matching scarf, and back with black trim, and also a pair of black boots.

"Groovy Glam" collection L-R;
Macy is sporting "Seeing Spots" which is a Bright lime green top with fuchsia polka dots, The top is a turtleneck with an opening in the front. She has what appears to be a shiny Fuchsia colored skirt with a yellow button and a matching hand bag with the same yellow button. Her boots are lime green.
*******
Dawn is wearing "Cubism"
Which is a barrel type of mini in black with silver straps and a silvery type of iridescent little squares, she also had a matching purse and black boots
*****
Denise is wearing "Purpledelic" Which appears to be a silver and lavender color type dress with silver fringe, and a matching purse. She is also wearing lavender boots.
*****
Shannon is Wearing "True Blue" which is a fancy royal blue top that appears to tie at the waist, along with multicolored pants which appear to have mini halograms in them. She has a matching purse and what appears to be in pink boots.

The "Fun Formals" Collection L-R;
Dawn in "Golden Glimmer" a Long gown with a black short sleeved top and "crinkled gold lame skirt and wrap. Possibly black shoes under the dress. No purse is seen.
*****
Denise in "Dazzling Diva" which is a white gown, with silver shoulder straps, iridescent little circles, white shoes, and a chiffon scarf, no purse is seen.
*****
Macy wearing "Tinsel Town" a long gown with a metallic multi-colored long sleeved top, a lavender/blue looking skirt, with a pink sheer overlay. The shoes appear to match the skirt.
She has a silver clutch bag.
*****
Shannon is next wearing "Silver Belle" A long gown with a short-sleeve top and two beads, or buttons on the top. The long skirt flares out, and is silver with black flowers, she has a matching hand bag, and probably black shoes, though they are not seen in the photo.

And now for the fine print:
Just in case you were trying to read the fine print on the bottom of the pamphlet here is what it says:
"Dolls and fashions are subject to availability, and sold separately. Colors designs and Decorations may vary from those shown. Dolls cannot stand alone."

DawnŽ, is a Registered Trademark of Checkerboard Toys.

All in all, I see this new line, as a nice mixture of old and new.
While some of the outfits, can be considered modern versions of the older Topper outfits for example "Gold au-go-go", "Chain 'er up again" from the first set,
and "Mad Plaid" from this set.
There are also some fresh new looks for today's little girls to enjoy.
Some of the retro looking outfits like "Fringe Benefits" and "Cubism" are my favorites, but that is probably because I like that retro look on Dawn.
I hope you have enjoyed looking at this page, and from the sound of the fine print, we may have a whole new batch of variations, if you are planning to collect the New DawnŽ Doll Play line. So Keep your eyes open!
